2. Access Data/Server-Logfiles

The provider (or its web space provider on its behalf) collects data about every access to the website (so-called server log files). The access data includes:

Name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider.
This log data is only used for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimisation of the website. However, the provider reserves the right to check the log data retrospectively if there is a justified suspicion of unlawful use based on concrete evidence. This data is anonymised after 7 days and deleted after 400 days at the latest. Only when using the blog’s comment function is the IP address stored for longer, namely 60 days, after which it is deleted.

The legal basis for processing this data is Article 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR.

3. Cookies

Only technically necessary cookies are used. These cookies/data are processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) (pre-contractual/contractual measures) and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest of the operator).

When you log in, some cookies are set up to save the login information and display options. Login cookies expire after two days and cookies for the display options after one year. If ‘Stay logged in’ is selected when logging in, the login will be maintained for a fortnight. When you log out of your account, the login cookies are deleted.

If you write a comment on this website, this constitutes consent to store your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. This is a convenience function so that you do not have to enter all this data again when you write another comment. These cookies are stored for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this website, a temporary cookie is set to determine whether the browser you are using accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.

4. Handling of Personal Data

4.1 Contacting

When contacting the provider (e.g. via contact form or email), the user’s details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise. We only process other personal data if you consent to this (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 a) GDPR) or if we have a legitimate interest in processing your data (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR). A legitimate interest lies, for example, in responding to your email.

4.2 Consent to Data Processing

By using the website, in particular by leaving comments or other contributions, you consent to the data being processed as described here. The legal basis for the processing of this data then results in particular from Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

4.3 Purpose and Duration of Data Processing

4.3.1 Comments and Posts

When users leave comments in the blog or other posts, their IP addresses and the contact details provided by the user (name (or the pseudonym provided), e-mail address and website, if applicable) are stored. This is done for the security of the provider in case someone writes illegal content in comments and posts (insults, prohibited political propaganda, etc.). In this case, the provider itself can be prosecuted for the comment or contribution and is therefore interested in the identity of the author. The name and the text entered by the user will be published with the comment or other contribution; the e-mail address will not be published.

The provider reserves the right not to publish comments or to edit comments before publication.

4.3.1. Comment Subscriptions and Registration

If set up, users can subscribe to comments or register. In this case, the user will receive a confirmation email to check whether they are the email address entered. Users can unsubscribe or cancel ongoing comment subscriptions and registration at any time. The confirmation e-mail will contain instructions on how to do this. Users can be informed by e-mail about information relevant to the offer or registration, such as changes to the scope of the offer or technical circumstances. The data collected can be seen from the input screen during registration. This includes your name, e-mail address and IP address. The IP address is deleted after 60 days.

4.3.2 Duration of Data Storage

The website is intended to present the content to the public on a permanent basis. Therefore, permanent storage of the data is also intended. However, the provider reserves the right to delete individual contributions or comments or other data at any time and without notice. In particular, the provider reserves the right to terminate the offer as a whole without notice. All data will then be deleted.

5. Rights of Withdrawal, Access, Correction, Deletion and Transfer

The user has the right, upon request and free of charge, to receive information about the personal data that has been stored about them. In addition, the user has the right to rectification of incorrect data, erasure or restriction of processing of their personal data or to object to processing, provided that this does not conflict with any statutory retention obligation.
Furthermore, users have the right to receive the data stored about them in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit this data to another controller.
They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The contact details of the supervisory authority are given above.

6. Consequences of a Lack of Consent or Withdrawal

If you do not agree to the storage of your personal data, you will not be able to post comments or contributions or use the subscription or registration function. In the event of revocation, your data, including the contributions, will be anonymised or deleted, and existing subscription or registration functions can no longer be used.

7. Changes to the Data Processing Information

The provider reserves the right to change the privacy policy without notice in order to adapt it to changed legal situations or in the event of changes to the service and data processing. Users are requested to inform themselves regularly about the content of the privacy policy.
